Man-made underground passage in Creevagh (burren By.)

Man-made underground passage

What is recorded here

In the SE sector of an enclosure (CL010-096----), this Man-made underground passage (traceable L 3.6m; Wth 0.8m) is aligned ENE-WSW. Its WSW end (L 1.4m; D 0.9m) is roofed and a collapsed lintel covers an opening (D 0.6m) at the opposite, ENE end. The exposed, unroofed section (L 1.3m; Wth 0.8m) reveals a stone-filled passage (D 0.8-1m) and the stonework of the upper sidewalls. The continuation of the Man-made underground passage in either direction from this exposed section is not accessible. Compiled by: Gearóid Conroy and Conn Herriott Date of upload: 12 May 2023
