Enclosure in Lurgoe is an enclosure in Lurgoe, County Tipperary, Ireland. It occupies flat poorly drained bogland at the base of the bog Island of Derrynaflan, with a nearby church 250 metres to the east. Early maps show a circular enclosure about 25 metres across, but vegetation covers most of the site. Only the western edge remains clear, showing a reduced earth and stone bank, a wide flat-bottomed ditch and an outer bank running from southwest through west to northwest.

Depicted as a circular enclosure (map diam. c. 25m) on the 1st (1840) and 2nd (1905) ed. OS 6-inch map. Only the W enclosing element could be identified as the area is covered in vegetation which may obscure any low enclosing bank in the other sectors. The earth and stone bank (base Wth 2m; top Wth 1m; int. H 0.2m; ext. H 0.4m) in the W sector is mainly reduced to a scarp, with a wide flat-bottomed fosse (base Wth 2m; top Wth 4m; ext. D 0.3m) and an external bank (base Wth 3m; top Wth 1.5m; ext. H 0.4m) which survives from SW through W to NW only. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 August 2011
