Vermount Fort stands on a prominent Galway hillock as a thirty-metre oval platform, now split by a field wall and buried beneath years of relentless green growth. The eastern edge has vanished into soil while the western boundary dissolves into tangled vegetation, leaving behind a phantom ring rather than a visible defense. This is not a dramatic ruin but a quiet disappearance, where human ambition has been swallowed by patience and grass.

On top of a prominent hillock. A poorly preserved and totally overgrown oval platform (NW-SE c. 30m, NE-SW c. 25) divided by a N-S running field wall. To E of the wall the enclosing element is reduced to a scrap; to W it was not possible to distinguish it due to overgrowth.
