What is recorded here
Indicated is a fairy fort in County Mayo, Ireland. The local story claims it is a dwelling for fairy folk, while the visible earth suggests a human ringfort where ordinary people once lived, worked and left the site behind. Both ideas can be true at once: people built it, departed, and the region continued naming it after the extraordinary residents it now appears to hold.
