Lisnashearshane: man-made underground passage in a ringfort, County Cork. Broker in 1937 found steps going into the ground between two fences of the fort, probably a passage slanting eastwards, then closed. The ringfort is levelled and the entrance has vanished, leaving only the memory of a hole that wanted to be walked into.

In ringfort (CO030-11601-). According to Broker (1937, 53), 'steps going into ground between two fences [of fort]....now closed. Probably a passage going slantwise eastwards'. No visible surface trace; ringfort levelled. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000).
