Half-hidden on its drumlin in Leitrim, Lisnanorrus is a fairy fort in the old stories: a smooth earthen ring, wide enough to walk around and high enough to keep rain off the grass within. People may have stood at either gap, looked across the fields, and felt the small circle watching back.

Situated on top of a drumlin. This is a grass-covered circular area (diam. 40m) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 5.5m; int. H 0.2m at E and W to 0.7m at N; ext. H 1m generally to 2.6m at N) with some bushes and a band of lush vegetation (Wth 3-4m) S-W-N which is replaced by an old field drain E-S. There are modern entrances at W (Wth 2.5m) and NW (Wth 2.1m) and the monument is surrounded by an E-W field bank at N and a NNW-SSE field bank E.
