What is recorded here

Gallan stood in County Cork until removal erased it from the earth. Whether the stone marked a boundary, a burial or a forgotten prayer remains unknown. Its disappearance confirms that human memory is fragile and that even ancient stones can be taken without witness.

Not shown on 1842 and 1903 OS 6-inch maps. Marked as single standing stone on 1938 OS 6-inch map. Removed; no visible surface trace.
