Inside a Galway ringfort, three stones still break the grass where children were buried. A rectangular rock sits at the centre today, dragged from Lough Altore after men drained the water and remembered the weight of what the lake had hidden. The ground keeps its dead quiet, but the recovered rock proves the area still gives back what it takes.

Within a ringfort (GA016-099----). Apart from three stones protruding above ground level, which may possibly have been grave-markers, no visible surface trace survives. A mass rock now occupies the centre of the rath; roughly rectangular in ground plan (L 2.35m, Wth 1.25m), it was rediscovered while draining the nearby Lough Altore, after which it was brought to its present location.
