Ballymaglancy Cave is a 726-metre limestone tunnel near Cong where lesser horseshoe bats still roost in darkness. TheClancy family name lives in its Irish title, linking human memory to a passage that water cut through ancient rock. People may have followed its draft, listened to its dripping or feared what it hid before law protected the bats inside.

Associated with a possible rath (GA105-148----). Named 'Cave' but not indicated on the 1838 edition of the OS 6-inch map. No visible surface trace survives. Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 29 July 2019
