Fairy forts are human places misnamed by wonder, and Lisdornan is no exception. Its circular ditch and broken entrance mark a ordinary ringfort on the Bellewtown ridge, large enough for households, herds and argument. The fairies enter later, when people stopped knowing the builders and looked for magic instead of memory.

Located on a slight shelf towrads the bottom of the N-facing slope of the E-W Bellewtown ridge. The cropmark of a circular enclosure (int. diam. c. 60-65m) defined by a single fosse feature (Wth c. 1-3m) that is absent NE-ESE is visible on Bing Images (c. 2013). There is a large oval feature (max. dims c. 40m WNW-ESE; c. 20m NNE-SSW), probably a quarry pit, inside the perimeter at NE.
