This blue commemorative plaque records: Thomas Paine 1737-1809 here expounded his revolutionary politics. This inn is regarded as a cradle of American independence which he helped to found with pen and sword.
Thomas Paine was an influential political activist, philosopher, and author whose works such as "Common Sense" and "The Rights of Man" played a crucial role in inspiring the American Revolution and advocating for republicanism and democratic reforms.
