This white commemorative plaque records: DEPOT. This site used to be an orchard and was later owned by West Street Brewery. In 1937 it was rebuilt as a Post Office garage, then adapted as a warehouse and offices for Harvey's Brewery from 1996 to 2013. An independent cinema since 2017 Recorded plaque organisation: Friends of Lewes Society.
The site has served multiple commercial functions including as a brewery-owned property and a Post Office garage, reflecting the area’s evolution in industrial and service sectors over the 20th century.
