Structure

Two vertical stakes and a piece of light brushwood in the drain face (Wth 0.19m; D 0.7m). The stakes are located at the top of the drain set 0.2m apart. One has a metal-cut wedge point while the other has a metal-cut chisel point and evidence for branch-trimming. The piece of brushwood, located 0.7m below the stakes, has a degraded metal-cut chisel point. All are situated in well-humified Sphagnum peat. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1994. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
