Structure

An alder roundwood (L 1.92m; diam. 0.066m) on the field surface. The roundwood has been broken into five pieces with only one piece is in situ. Woodworking is evidenced by an incomplete pencil point and two possible sawn ends. The site is in poorly humified Sphagnum peat. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1994. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
