Structure

Two pieces of heavy brushwood in the drain face (L 0.4m; Wth 0.18m; D 0.05m). One of the elements had a degraded, metal-cut chisel point. One piece was identified as alder. The site was situated in moderately humified Sphagnum peat with Eriophorum. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1994. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
