Structure

A deposit (Wth 0.29m; D 0.08m) of brushwood (diam. 0.01-0.05m) and twigs in the drain face The elements are closely spaced, set perpendicular to each other and are laid three pieces deep. One element was worked to a chisel point. A single piece of hazel was identified. The site is in well-humified Sphagnum peat and is located c. 8-10m SE of SMR OF015-043---- and c. 7-8m NW of SMR OF015-085----. The latter site has structural similarities with SMR OF015-044----. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1994. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
