Structure

A compact arrangement of brushwood in the drain face (Wth 0.42m; D 0.16m). The site consists of eight pieces of light brushwood, laid 1-2 pieces deep, with a shared N-S orientation. A vertical peg, cut to a chisel point, is positioned at the centre of the site. The site is in well-humified Sphagnum peat. This material may be the remains of a more substantial structure. SMR OF015-084---- is located 5m to the E. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1994. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
