Road

The site (Wth 2.2m min.; D 0.15m) in opposing drain faces. The site consists of approximately thirty pieces of light brushwood, laid five pieces deep, with occasional twigs. Two possibly upcast stones are located at the NW end of the site. The brushwood is irregularly laid and widely spaced. There is no discernible structure. The pieces to the SE tend to be more uniform in size and smaller than those to the NW. Much of the brushwood has metal-cut chisel points. Two pieces were identified as willow and a twig was identified as ash. The site is in well-humified Sphagnum peat. Compiled by: Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College Dublin).
