What is recorded here
Lehardan Stone Ringfort is a roughly circular stone enclosure on the south slope of Lehardan Hill in County Donegal. Its internal diameter reaches twenty to thirty metres, while the surviving basal wall measured 2.15 metres wide at one northern point. The rest has softened into a low, grassed-over, stony bank, and the interior still slopes downward from north to south with the land itself. It sits on a flattish terrace amid rock outcrop and rough grazing, more like a forgotten room than a ruined building.
Internal diam. 20m-30m. A roughly circular area enclosed by a stone wall. Basal layers of the wall survive in a few places, and it measured 2.15m wide at one point on the N side. Over the remainder the wall is traceable as a low grassed-over, stony bank. The interior slopes down from N to S in line with the natural slope. It is sited on a flattish terrace on the S slope of the steep-sided Lehardan Hill in an area of rock outcrop and rough grazing.
