Structure

A loose arrangement of brushwood (Wth 0.96m; D 0.32m). The site consists of twenty-four pieces of brushwood (diam. 0.015-0.041m), laid five pieces deep. The pieces are closely spaced, irregularly laid and lack a discernible structure. A single piece has a degraded chisel point. Two pieces of brushwood were identified as birch and willow, respectively. The site is in moderately humified Sphagnum peat. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1994. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
