Structure

A brushwood (diam. 0.01-0.044m) and twig deposit in opposing drain faces (Wth 4.06m; D 0.28m). The elements are widely spaced, set perpendicularly to each other and are laid four pieces deep. The site appears to be situated at a boundary between two peat strata. The layer above the site consists of moderately humified Sphagnum peat, with well-humified Sphagnum peat below it. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1994. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
