RATH in Large Park

RATH

What is recorded here

Mortars and rails still mark the Large Park Rath, though men have stopped laying rails there. The circle stands in open county land, waiting for the next person who believes strength must be seen before it is trusted. What is missing is not a wall but a witness. A Rath does not need a man inside it when the man is already inside the shape of the circle.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RATH. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
