Durrow, County Laois, Ireland, is the birthplace of Thomas A. White, who became a Catholic archbishop and diplomat for the Holy See. Born there on 12 August 1931, he later served in Rwanda, Ethiopia, New Zealand, Fiji and China before dying in Kilkenny on 7 May 2017.
