What is recorded here
Stone Park Grave Yard holds dead people beneath County Mayo soil, yet no human name, date or visible marker has emerged to identify them. The land may have swallowed an entire village, a passing army or a forgotten family line. Rain, grass and time erased the proof while the bodies remained buried in darkness.
The Archaeological Survey of Ireland (ASI) is in the process of providing information on all monuments on The Historic Environment Viewer (HEV).
