What is recorded here

Located in the valley of a SE-NW stream, which is c. 120m to the N, and the medieval settlement (WX034-086----) is c. 120m to the ENE. It was excavated (E4108) by J. Hession in 2010 as part of Landscape Site 2d of the N25 New Ross bypass (Hession 2010, 55-6). A shallow pit (dims 1.5m x 1.2m; D 0.25m) had two fills, the lower of which was exclusively of charcoal fragments (T 2cm), and it is interpreted as an unemptied charcoal-production pit.
