House 3 stood between Tombs 1C and 15 during the Middle Neolithic, a circular shelter seven metres wide whose twenty-one stake-holes still mark its ghostly edge. People lived there after building House 2, heating food at an off-centre hearth and leaving behind cattle bones, pig remains and flint flakes. The home belonged to the same busy era that raised the nearby tombs, linking everyday survival to monumental memory.

This Neolithic House site, No. 3, is part of Eogan's Phase 3 Decorated Pottery complex: Domestic activity - Zone E (Eogan and Roche 1997, 6, 58), which is between Tombs 1C and 15. This phase, now called Middle Neolithic, is associated with the construction of the tombs and dated to c. 3500-2900 cal. BC (Eogan and Cleary 2017, 41). Neolithic House 3 was recorded as a circular building (diam. 7m) defined by an arc of 21 stake-holes W-N with a hearth located slightly off-centre. It was only partially excavated but a thin layer of habitation material with flint waste flakes and some burnt bones of cattle and pig were present beneath a thin humus. The house post-dates and partially overlies Neolithic House 2. Artefacts from beneath Tomb 15, including a sherd of Carrowkeel ware and some flints are associated with it.
