What is recorded here

Caheraknick was a twenty-five-metre stone ringfort buried in the low marshes of Knocknacarragh, visible on first edition maps before a house consumed the site by 1945. Most forts climbed dry hills, but this one crouched in wet ground, perhaps serving a different purpose or forcing its builders to drain what others avoided. The marsh kept the fort's shape long enough for surveyors to draw it, then released it back into oblivion under a domestic roof.
