Knockmullin holds a chipped sandstone pillar on a gentle slope, its blunt point marking the place where human memory stopped and stone memory began. The region is not empty because it lacks grandeur. It is occupied by smaller things that resist forgetting: a ridge, a stone, a field edge, a name preserved in local speech.

On a gentle SE-facing slope in undulating pasture. A regular sandstone upright (dims. 0.7m x 0.3m; H 1.85m) aligned N-S, which has been damaged and now has a blunt pointed top.
