Partial hachure is a circular earthwork in County Limerick pasture, mapped in 1840 with a wide foss before the Cork-Dublin railway cut through it. The line took the northern half, leaving a D-shaped shadow in southern crops where grass grows pale or dense according to hidden depth. What remains is not a ruin but a before-and-after picture: a complete place interrupted by human urgency, still readable in soil and seed.
