Naughton's Rath vanished from the NE-facing slope of Checker Hill, leaving no visible trace of its twenty-eight-metre earthen circle. It may have stood as a ordinary home or a dangerous fairy trap, depending on which local voice you trusted. The earth swallowed the wall and the wall swallowed the memory, proving that even stone obedience has limits when imagination refuses to leave.

On NE-facing slope of Checker Hill. Marked on OS 6-inch maps as a circular enclosure (D c. 28m). Neary (1914, 120, no. 10) classified it as 'a circular, earthen fort', known locally as 'Naughton's Rath'. No visible surface trace survives.
