Knockaunbaun holds a worn earthen ring beside a hidden underground passage, marking an old human claim on marshy ground. The field wall now cuts through the fort, yet the buried passage still points to a place where people wanted entry, exit, memory, or protection. The marsh takes back what it can, but the ring and passage remain as a quiet invitation to imagine the lives that shaped them.

In marshy scrubland. Poorly preserved subcircular rath (42m N-S; 39m E-W) defined by a scarp and external fosse; the latter only survives from SW to NW. A field wall cuts across the monument at SE and SW and no visible surface trace of the scarp survives to the S of it.
