Standing stone in Knockanyconor

Standing stone

What is recorded here

Standing stone in Knockanyconor is a standing stone in Knockanyconor, County Roscommon, Ireland. English recorded in 1969 that the stone stood beside the portal tomb at Lecarrow on the other side of the narrow north-south road. A broader road has since been built east of that old track, erasing the place where the stone may have stood.
There is a reference to a standing stone at the portal tomb at Lecarrow (RO045-053001-) which was said to be on the other side of the road (English 1969, 2). The N-S road is now a survival while a new broader road has been built just to its E. If the standing stone was just E of the road it no longer survives.
