Fairy fort in Kilmacow, County Limerick: a 60-metre earthen ring on a low limestone hill, its shallow bank and ditch still drawing a line around pasture. Brambles choke the uneven interior, where rock pushes through soil and shadow. People may have lived there before forgetting the name; the fairies, according to local story, never left.

In pasture, atop low hill, in area of limestone outcropping. Circular area (diam. c. 60m) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.35m; ext. H 0.85m) with external fosse (D 0.35m; Wth 1m). Running concentrically with and immediately outside fosse is stone-faced earthen bank (H 1.5m) which is part of surrounding field boundary system.
