Killosolan village in County Galway may have hidden a well called Tobar na Slainte, the well of health, but no one could point it out when O'Flanagan walked there in 1927. The name still floats above ordinary galway stone like a promise nobody kept. Perhaps the water stopped flowing, perhaps the village forgot, or perhaps health there never needed a container at all.

According to OS Letters (O'Flanagan 1927, Vol. 1, 240), 'It is said in the country that there is a well called Tobar na Slainte, the well of health, Fons Salutis, at Killosolan village, but when I went there I could get no one to point out a well of the name'.
