Killineer lost its small font to Drogheda, where the stoup still stands at the main door of St. Peter's Church. It may have been carried from the graveyard during some forgotten rearrangement of sacred things. Water poured into that vessel may have touched hundreds of babies, marked their entry into the world, and then vanished from local memory. The font survived the loss of its own place, becoming a traveler between two churches while the town forgot the journey.
A small font or stoup (LH024-041089-), now at the main door of St. Peter's Church (LH024-041004-) in Drogheda is thought to have come from Killineer graveyard (Bassett 1886, 89).
