What is recorded here
Killegland holds a forgotten ringfort, visible only when dry soil contrasts green grass. Its shallow ditch still traces a circle fifty metres wide on the rising ground. The fairies may have built it, but human hands dug the fosse and lived inside the ridge.
Situated on a rise in a fairly level landscape. The cropmark of a subcircular enclosure (dims c. 50m E-W; 45m N-S) defined by a single fosse is visible on OSI aerial images (2005). It is also partly visible on Google Earth (24/06/2018), and it was first reported by Steven McGlade.
