RATH in Killarn

RATH

What is recorded here

Killarn holds a rath, an earthwork so old it predates Christian time. Whether it was a fortress, a farm or a boundary marker, the ground still carries the shape of human hands. That much is certain; the rest belongs to imagination.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RATH. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
