Structure

An area of loosely and irregularly deposited light brushwood and twigs on the field surface (L 0.8m; Wth 0.7m; D 0.08m). One piece shows evidence for woodworking. Wood species include alder and willow. The site is located in moderately humified Sphagnum peat containing Eriophorum. Two displaced pieces of brushwood on the field surface 1.5m to the E may derive from this site. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1993. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
