What is recorded here
Killadangan holds a standing stone in County Mayo, but human memory has not yet recorded why it stands or when it rose. The stone may mark a boundary, a burial, a meeting place or an ordinary field edge that became sacred through repetition. Its silence is not emptiness; it is a waiting room where forgotten people still pass with bread, fear or love.
The Archaeological Survey of Ireland (ASI) is in the process of providing information on all monuments on The Historic Environment Viewer (HEV). Currently the information for this record has not been uploaded.
