Joseph Kyteler’s graveslab leans beside the James Shortall effigy, having traveled from 33 High Street to St Mary’s Church before finding its final resting place. The stone survived displacement and relocation, carrying the memory of a name across different floors and walls. Its journey suggests that even forgotten markers refuse disappearance when people keep moving them into sight.
The graveslab was apparently found at 33 High Street and moved first to St Mary's Church and then here for safe keeping. It leans against the wall next to the James Shortall effigy.
