Kildare is an Irish county on the Leinster Plain, north of Wicklow and south of Dublin. It contains Kildare town, the River Barrow, and several historic estates. The county is known for horse racing, breeding, and the annual Kildare National Hunt festival.

According to Bradley et al. (1986 vol. 3, 253-4), a folly, comprising a D-shaped turret and length of wall, incorporates medieval windows and window jambs: two ogee-headed, chamfered limestone windows, one with hollow spandrels, and five incomplete rectangular granite windows; three with chamfered and two with rounded jambs.
