Coolree Fort

Two circular earthen forts face each other across fifty metres of open Kildare pasture, suggesting related families or successive generations shared the same ground. The larger enclosure keeps a forty-two metre interior behind a two and a half metre bank, while thorn and briar now swallow its eastern half. Neither has been excavated, so the true relationship between them remains hidden beneath grass, memory and time.
