Uragh Stone Circle

Five low stones and one tall recumbent marker still stand between Lough Inchiquin and Lough Cloonee Upper, forming a small Bronze Age chamber where people may have gathered, buried their dead, or watched the sky. The circle is narrow enough to touch on both sides, yet large enough to swallow a room, and its centre has been scarred by later treasure seekers. Nearby boulder burials and another stone circle suggest the hillside was crowded with memory, while the tall standing stone still rises like a forgotten door.
