What is recorded here

Indicated is a small circular crannog in Long Lough, County Cavan, sitting forty metres from the shore. It appeared on maps in 1836 and 1876, proving people recognised the island before modern cameras or computers existed. The distance from land is close enough to reach yet far enough to feel chosen. Water, distance and repetition turn a small island into a marker for attention.
