What is recorded here
Kealduff Upper holds a low rock buried in peat, marked with a cup surrounded by two rings and another cup on its north-west face. The stones sit beneath soft earth rather than above it, forcing whoever made them to kneel in damp darkness and carve upward into the grey surface. That much is clear from the shape and placement. What is not clear is whether they mapped a hole, a spirit, a person or a promise, but the rings still turn around that first cup like breath around a flame.
Rock art identified and described by Aoibheann Lambe as; 'Low lying rock in peat with a cup-and-two rings and a cupmark on its level surface and a cupmark on the upper part of its north-west facing side'.
