What is recorded here

Inis Oírr holds two contiguous rectangular leachta at the SW corner of its church, each 2.1m long and capped with a flat limestone slab. They sit close enough to touch, as if sharing one forgotten purpose, while a third leacht waits fifteen metres southeast in the grass. The stone is plain, but the arrangement is not: someone placed these markers where prayer, memory or loss could still be handled.

This is one of two contiguous leachta (see also GA120-002008-) that are located on the S side of the church (GA120-002001-), at its SW corner. Both are rectangular in plan (2.1m E-W; 1m N-S) and consist of a plinth of limestone masonry capped by a flat rectangular limestone slab (information from Dr J. Waddell).
