What is recorded here

Indicated is a circular earthen ringfort on a natural rise above the Bride River in County Cork. Its broken western bank and raised eastern interior suggest people shaped the hill rather than surrendered to it. The fort still holds its shape because human hands kept returning to that spot, learning its limits and making them useful.

On top of a natural rise, S of Bride River. Roughly circular area (38.5m NE-SW; 34.3m NW-SE) enclosed by earthen bank (H 2.7m). Stone facing on upper half outer bank face may be original. Break in bank to W (Wth 2.8m). Interior raised on E side to compensate for hillslope. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
