On S side of Parnell St., on the location of or incorporated within the present Town Hall. Formerly the location of a late 17th-century mansion built by Richard Hamerton (Shee and Watson 1975, 38). In the 18th century the building was converted into the 'Great Globe Inn' which is depicted in 1826 as a five-bay, two-storey building with four attic windows and two centrally placed diagonally set chimneys (Pyke 1984, 30).
