Indicated is a vast field system on the uplands west of the Carran Valley, stretching four kilometres from Poulbaun to Rannagh West. Meandering walls still trace the shapes of ancient cashels, enclosures and hut sites across the Clare landscape. The stones have watched seasons turn and herds pass for generations, marking boundaries long forgotten by human memory.

An extensive field system (c. 4km NW-SE; c. 2.2km SW-NE) on the uplands immediately W of the Carran Valley and stretching from Poulbaun at N to Rannagh West at S. The field system is visible on OS Aerial Premium (2012-2018) as series of meandering walls associated with the many cashels, enclosures and hut sites and wedge tombs that lie within.
