Hut site in Gortloughra

In rough hill grazing, on a heather and rush-covered terrace on a N-facing slope. The remains of a rectangular hut site (2.8m N-S; 2.3m E-W) defined by a largely collapsed, roughly built, stone wall (T 0.6m; H 0.8m). The entrance (Wth 0.5m) is at S. The level interior, which is obscured by moss-covered rubble, is cut (D 1m) into the upslope at S. Another hut site (CO092-063001-) is c. 25m to the N. A subsequent inspection of this hut site in June 2007 reported that the area has been planted in forestry and that this hut site has been partly demolished.
